Opportunity

KEY SKILLS: We are a multidisciplinary lab always looking to blend in new expertise and knowledge to our work. However, some backgrounds are closer to our research than others. We are more than happy to accept experimentalists with strong skills in mechanics, imaging and materials science. On the theoretical side, our team usually has a good degree of expertise in solid and fracture mechanics for all the research areas. However, we are also looking for training in probability, stochastic processes, statistical physics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics for the biological modeling. While these backgrounds are preferable, we strive to find applicants who are creative, independent, driven in the selected field and that feel that their scientific interests align with our own. We have recommended some key literature for each of our research subjects.

POSTDOC OPENINGS: All our postdocs are driven towards their field of study and our alumni always find new opportunities before leaving our lab. We advertise any opening, but there may be a position yet to be advertised. If you are seriously interested in joining, please just contact us (see below).

PHD STUDENTS: We can take graduate students from virtually any affine program to our research from any university. Funding for new PhD students are not always advertised, if you are interested in joining, please contact us (see below).

VISITING THE LAB: We have hosted several sabbatical professors, as well as many students and postdocs who wished to collaborate with our lab. Usually, our visitors stay between a few weeks up to six months. If you are interested in a visit, please contact us (see below).

CONTACT: If you are interested in any of these positions, please send an email, CV and references to hh463@cam.ac.uk.
